According to statistics compiled by the Japan Textile Machinery Association, the nation’s production and exports of textile machinery during January-June 2016 increased year-on-year.

First-half textile machinery production increased by 16.3% to 96,845 million yen. While the production of fiber-making machinery and weaving preparatory equipment fell 35% and 31.8% respectively, that of spinning machinery climbed 44.2%, along with looms by 19.8%, knitting machines by 54.8% and dyeing & finishing machinery by 16.1%
Exports grew by 4.5% to 106,654 million yen.

Exports increased for fiber-making machinery (up 66%), spinning machinery (up 5%), looms (up 16.9%), knitting machines (up 22.5%) and dyeing & finishing machinery (up 12.4%).
