Fabric production in the three Hokuriku prefectures of Fukui, Ishikawa and Toyama decreased by 1.1% in 2017 compared to the previous year to 504.83 million square meters.

Production in Fukui increased by 0.2% to 189.23 million square meters, while it decreased in Ishikawa (down 2.0% to 270.75 million square meters) and Toyama (down 0.6% to 44.86 million square meters).

By type of material, the production of polyester filament fabrics rose by 0.6% to 350.79 million square meters, while that of nylon filament fabrics decreased by 0.6% to 78.16 million square meters.

According to statistics released from the three prefectures, polyester filament fabric production in Fukui declined by 0.4% to 143.76 million square meters, whereas that of nylon filament fabrics climbed 24.4% to 16.0 million square meters.

Polyester filament fabric production in Ishikawa decreased by 0.4% to 189.08 million square meters, and that of nylon filament fabrics declined by 5.5% to 62.16 million square meters.

Polyester filament fabric production in Toyama sharply increased by 24.0% to 17.95 million square meters.
