According to China’s General Administration of Customs, the nation’s exports of textiles and apparel in February 2018 sharply increased by 85.2% over the same month of last year to US$20.34 billion (provisional). Exports in February 2017 were at an extremely low level due to the Chinese Lunar New Year, and February 2018 figures were also larger than usual export figures.

February exports of textiles increased by 94.3% to US$8.92 billion, thus increasing for five consecutive months since last September.

Apparel exports grew by 78.9% to US$11.43 billion, and grew for the first time in three months.

Textile and apparel exports during January-February 2018 increased by 25.5% year-on-year to US$43.44 billion: textiles, US$18.90 billion (up 34.4%) and apparel, US$24.54 billion (up 19.4%).
