According to China’s General Administration of Customs, the nation’s exports of textiles and apparel in July 2018 increased by 5.7% over the same month of last year to US$26.95 billion (provisional), which is the highest level in 23 months since exports reached US$27.94 billion in August of 2016.

July exports of textiles grew by 8.8% to US$10.16 billion, thus growing for the fourth consecutive month but being at the lowest level in the last four months.

Apparel exports rose 4.0% to US$16.79 billion, the highest level in 23 months since exports amounted to US$17.69 billion in August 2016. As a result of the increase in apparel exports, textile and apparel exports reached the highest level in two years.

Textile and apparel exports during January-July 2018 increased by 3.7% year-on-year to US$154.37 billion: textiles, US$68.46 billion (up 10.1) and apparel, US$85.91 billion (down 0.8%).
