Première Vision will hold Première Vision Sport for the first time on August 14th and 15th, 2019 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon (U.S.).
The new show is organized simultaneously and in partnership with The Materials Show.
According to Première Vision, sportswear has never influenced the world of fashion as much as in recent years. In order to support brands looking for innovations for the development of high-performance fashion pieces, Première Vision launched the Sport & Tech sector at Première Vision Paris last September: a selective and creative offering of high-performance and technical materials for fashion.
Portland is the headquarters of major international American sports brands, such as Nike, Under Armour, Columbia Sportswear, Adidas North America, Avia and Poler Stuff. The city is also ideally located less than two hours by plane from San Francisco (headquarters of Patagonia and The North Face) and Vancouver (birthplace of Lululemon, Arcteryx and Canada Goose).
According to Euromonitor International, the global sportswear market continued to grow between 2011 and 2016, reaching US$280 billion in 2016. American brands dominate the sportswear market worldwide, with the U.S. representing 37% of global sales, or US$103 billion in 2016, with the following break-down: US$70 billion for sportswear (up 4.4%) and US$32 billion for shoes (up 8.8%).
