Due to the increased spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Japan Sewing Machinery Manufacturers Association (JASMA) announced the postponement of JIAM 2020 OSAKA until 2022 or later after intensive consultations.
Further information regarding the new date and exhibitor policy will be announced soon after details are finalized.
JIAM 2020 OSAKA was originally scheduled from May 20th to 23rd, 2020 at INTEX OSAKA in Osaka, Japan.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called on February 26th for a two-week postponement or cancellation of large-scale sports and cultural events.
Commenting on the postponement of JIAM 2020 OSAKA, Shigemi Mima, Chairman of the JIAM 2020 Executive Committee, says, “Although JIAM 2020 OSAKA does not fall within the Prime Minister’s restrictions, we have nonetheless come to a difficult decision to postpone the show after serious discussions. As the prospects to curtail the new coronavirus are uncertain, we have prioritized the health and safety of our participants.”
