The Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFW) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) have decided to cancel the participation of The Japan Observatory in Milano Unica, scheduled from September 7th to 9th, 2020 in Milan, Italy.

This decision was made comprehensively taking into account the fact that coronavirus infection cases are increasing again in Japan and Italy, travel restrictions implemented by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the survey conducted on participating companies.

JFW and JETRO had been considering various measures to hold The Japan Observatory, but the number of confirmed infections after the lockdowns and cancellation of the emergency declaration has been increasing again. It was considered impossible to avoid “closed space”, “crowded place” and “close scene” at the exhibition, as well as eliminating the impact from the inspection and examination during immigration and possible isolation on daily life and business.

The Japan Observatory will make its next appearance at Milano Unica in February 2021.
