 Teijin Limited announced today that it has launched the Teijin Sustainable Mobility website to comprehensively introduce the company’s initiatives for a more sustainable society including its partnership with the Formula E (all-electric) racing team Envision Virgin Racing Formula E Team and Teijin Group’s technologies that help reduce the environmental impact of automobiles.

 Teijin is strengthening its position in the automotive industry as it develops medium- and long-term opportunities in the field. The new, bilingual (English/Japanese) website introduces Teijin’s partnership with Envision Virgin Racing and promotes the group’s related sustainability efforts, including its automotive technologies and solutions engineered to reduce environmental impact.

 It also provides convenient links to the Teijin business groups focused on these technologies.

 To ensure relevance for automotive-industry stakeholders, the website’s design and content were developed through consultation with members of Teijin’s group companies in Japan, U.S., and Europe. In the future, the Teijin Sustainable Mobility website will be further enhanced with new content, including solutions for polycarbonate resin glazing and carbon fiber.

 Teijin has a long-term vision of becoming a company that supports the society of the future and has established long-term goals for internal net-zero emissions by fiscal 2050.With an aim to significantly reduce CO2 emissions across its entire supply chain, the company will make the amount of avoided emissions by use of its products larger than actual emissions groupwide and its upstream supply chain by 2030.

 Envision Virgin Racing has been competing in the all-electric race series ABB FIA Formula E World Championship (Formula E) since its inception. Teijin and its partners have been working with Envision Virgin Racing to develop lightweight, high-performance automotive components, leveraging the freedom of design that will be required for next-generation mobility.

 Teijin is also using initiative to raise awareness of its brand in the automotive world.
