Teijin Limited will expand its Technora para-aramid fiber production by 10% through increasing the capacity at its Matsuyama Factory. Construction will begin this June at a cost of 1.5 billion yen, with operation slated to begin from October 2017. Teijin and Teijin Aramid B.V., the group’s core aramid-fiber business, will jointly expand the worldwide sales of Technora in response to growing demands in global markets. Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd., the Teijin Group’s fiber-products converting company, established Teijin Frontier Mexico S.A. de C.V in Mexico City on February 3rd as its first automotive material subsidiary in the Americas. The subsidiary will manufacture and sell materials for auto manufacturing, and will serve as the headquarters for the North American market, where Teijin Frontier is aiming to expand its market share by supplying rubber and materials for car seats and airbags to Japanese and other automobile companies operating in Mexico. Sales and marketing activities are scheduled to begin in July 2016.
