According to provisional figures released by China’s General Administration of Customs, the nation’s exports of textiles and apparel in August 2019 decreased by 4.6% compared to the same month of last year to US$25.71 billion, which is the first decrease in six months since February 2019.

August exports of textiles declined by 2.4% to US$10.01 billion, and those of apparel fell 5.9% to US$15.70 billion.

Textile and apparel exports during January-August 2019 decreased by 2.0% year-on-year to US$177.44 billion: textiles, US$79.40 billion (up 1.0%) and apparel, US$98.04 billion (down 4.3%).
