According to final production statistics released from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI), the nation’s production of nonwoven fabrics in March 2018 increased by 5.1% compared to the same month of last year to 29,805 tons. It is the fourth consecutive month that production increased over the year before.

Production continued to remain strong, and increased for all categories except for others. The production of spunbonded/meltblown nonwovens sharply grew by 10.6% to 8,556 tons, and that of needle-punched nonwovens rose by 3.7% to 6,575 tons.
