Japan’s Shuttleless Loom Exports Drop in Q1

According to Japanese Ministry of Finance trade statistics, January-March 2017 exports of shuttleless looms for weaving fabrics of a width exceeding 30 cm, dropped 36.5% in quantity and 37.7% in value year-on-year to 2,257 looms worth 10,032.85 million yen

Exports to China fell 59.7% and 59.2% respectively to 592 looms valued at 2,567.85 million yen. Exports to India also drastically decreased by 51.7% and 51.6% respectively to 592 looms worth 2,860.08 million yen.

Meanwhile, export sharply increased to Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia.
