The Office of Textiles and Apparel reported that U.S. imports of textiles and apparel in January-June 2018 increased by 4.50% in quantity and 4.21% in value over the year before to 31,963.38 million square meter equivalent (MSME) worth US$51,488.08 million.
First-half imports of textiles rose 6.86% and 10.38% respectively to 19,027.16 MSME valued at US$13,438.08 million, and those of apparel grew by 1.22% and 2.19% respectively to 12,936.22 MSME worth US$38,050 million.
