According to the Office of Textiles and Apparel at the International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, textile and apparel imports in May 2018 increased by 3.9% over the same month of last year to 5,682.7 million square meter equivalent (MSME).

Imports of textile grew by 5.2% to 3,506.9 MSME, and those of apparel rose by 1.9% to 2,175.8 MSME.

Textile and apparel imports during January-May 2018 increased by 4.8% year-on-year to 26,250.1 MSME: textiles, 15,543.4 MSME (up 7.2%) and apparel, 10,706.8 MSME.

January-May textile and apparel imports from China grew by 4.5% to 11,743.2 MSME, followed by India (up 7.2% to 2,296.0 MSME), Vietnam (up 5.2% to 2,047.8 MSME), Pakistan (up 4.5% to 1,101.1 MSME), Bangladesh (up 4.0% to 1,062.5 MSME) and Mexico (up 4.2% to 1,060.5 MSME).
