The Chinese government announced that it would release 30,000 tons of national cotton reserves every day from March 6th, 2017 until the end of August. If domestic and overseas prices of cotton sharply rise, or if the daily contract rate (sales volume/release volume) exceeds 70% for three or more days of a week, the release volume would be increased or the release period would be extended. It was not disclosed whether cotton would be stockpiled during the period.
