The Myanmar Ministry of Commerce announced that exports of apparel and sewn products doubled in 2016, as a rise in orders from the EU sharply increased the export value.
According to statistics released from the Ministry, exports of apparel and sewn products as of December 15th rose by US$4.6 million year-on-year to US$1,050 million.
Orders from the EU increased because the EU applied the Generalized System for Preferences to Myanmar.
