Vietnam’s exports of textiles and apparel during January-March 2017 increased by 10.2% year-on-year to US$5,634 million.
Meanwhile, first-quarter imports of raw cotton grew by 43.9% to US$586 million. Imports of yarns climbed 24.8% to US$429 million, and those of fabrics rose by 5.5% to US$2,252 million.
January-March 2017 production of apparel grew by 9.5% over the year before to 884.3 million units. The production of cotton fabrics rose by 1.1% to 81.0 million square meters, and that of man-made fiber fabrics increased by 7.6% to 223.4 million square meters.
