The ITMF Annual Conference 2017 will be held in Bali, Indonesia from September 14th to 16th, hosted by the Indonesian Textile Industry Association (API).
The general theme of the conference “Technology, Trade, Climate – Orientation in Disruptive Times” indicates that the global textile industry is facing various challenges resulting from changes that are often described as disruptive because their consequences are fundamentally changing the way textiles are produced, sourced, sold or purchased. With a long and complicated supply chain, the textile industry as a whole – from fiber to retail – is required to look holistically at these disruptive challenges as most of them require a comprehensive understanding, and often a cooperative approach to develop an efficient and sustainable supply chain.
In disruptive times, a better understanding of the entire textile supply chain is becoming more important than ever. Therefore, the ITMF Annual Conference is inviting experts from the entire textile value chain. Approximately 250 persons from around the world are expected to participate. The conference will cover the areas of fibers, textile supply chain, retail/e-commerce and technical textiles & nonwovens in open general sessions.
Indonesia’s Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati will deliver a keynote address at the opening session of the conference.
On the second day, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, Professor of International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs, former Secretary General of NATO and former Foreign Minister of the Netherlands, will deliver a keynote speech with the title “Technology, Trade, Climate: Reshaping the Geopolitical Landscape”.
