According to a Japan Textiles Exporters Association report based on Ministry of Finance trade statistics, the nation’s exports of textiles and apparel during January-November 2018 increased by 4% year-on-year to US$7,092.08 million.
The export value rose for all major categories: textile fibers, US$764.53 million (up 3%); yarns, US$950.07 million (up 3%); woven and knitted fabrics, US$2,541.13 (up 2%); coated fabrics, US$435.79 million (up 10%); nonwovens, US$701.00 (up 13%); and apparel, US$440.22 million (up 11%).
Exports of polyester filament fabrics increased by 2% in volume and 5% in value to 225.48 million square meters worth US$534.59 million.
