The Osaka Sewing Machine Commercial Cooperative will hold the sewing equipment exhibition ASM OSAKA 2026 (formerly the Osaka Sewing Machine Show) on March 6–7 at Intex Osaka, Hall 3. The event’s theme is “Fusion with Cutting-Edge Technology: Weaving the Future,” and 85 companies, including sewing machine manufacturers, will exhibit.

This will be the second event since the name was changed to ASM OSAKA (Apparel & Sewing Machine Promotion). As a new initiative, the organizers will introduce a Factory Corner, where sewing factories will exhibit, as well as a Home Sewing Corner, where popular independent creators who design and sell handmade items will showcase and sell their work. The previous exhibition in 2024 featured 60 exhibitors, but this year the number has increased to 85, thanks in part to the participation of 15 companies in the Factory Corner and 18 creators in the Home Sewing Corner.

The previous event attracted 7,625 visitors—an increase of about 3,500 from the one before it. However, the organizers believe that “the traditional approach has reached its limit,” and they aim to develop a new style of exhibition suited to the times by experimenting with new methods. In addition to showcasing the latest sewing technologies, the newly established Factory Corner is intended to broaden the visitor base by creating opportunities for business matching between manufacturers and users.

To help secure and develop the next generation of talent, the event will also include areas designed to convey the joy of making things to the general public. The Home Sewing Corner will feature creators who produce and sell handmade items independently, aiming to promote the appeal of sewing and handmade culture. With the growth of sales channels such as social media, more individual creators who began with household sewing machines are now using commercial and industrial machines as their businesses expand.

The event will also offer hands-on activities, including parent–child sewing workshops aimed at lower-grade elementary school students.
