Toray Industries, Inc. has decided to raise its prices for general-purpose carbon fibers by 5-10% from July shipments, thus restoring the prices that were reduced in 2016 to an appropriate level.
The hike does not include aircraft applications.
In 2016, carbon fiber prices were bearish with inventories in an adjustment phase and demand growing at a moderate rate. Demand has been recovering this year.
