According to the General Administration of Customs in China, the nation’s exports of textiles and apparel in August decreased by 5.9% compared to the same month of last year to US$26,280 million (provisional). It was the first decrease in three months since May.
Exports of textiles decreased by 5.4% to US$9,700 million, and those of apparel declined by 6.2% to US$16,590 million.
Textile and apparel exports during January-August rose by 0.8% year-on-year to US$175,470 million: textiles, US$72,100 million (up 2.0%) and apparel, US$103,370 million (0.0%).
