According to production statistics released from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI), the nation’s production of disposable diapers in 2017 increased by 9.3% over the previous year to 904,913 tons. In quantity, production grew by 10.1% to 24,611.99 million diapers. The increases of about 10% in production indicate the deep-rooted popularity of Japanese disposable diapers.
Production increased for both disposable diapers for adults and babies; particularly, disposable diapers for babies grew by 13.7% to 525,800 tons.
