According to a Japan Textiles Exporters Association report based on Ministry of Finance trade statistics, the nation’s exports of textiles and apparel during January-June 2018 increased by 6% year-on-year to US$3,844.54 million.

By item, exports of nonwoven fabrics climbed 14% to US$375.98 million, and those of woven fabrics were also vigorous.

Exports of polyester filament fabrics increased by 5% both in volume and value to 121.64 million sq. meters worth US$285.72 million, along with those of knitted fabrics by 9% and 7% respectively to 81.85 million sq. meters valued at US$293.47 million.

By destination, exports to Europe and North America posted double-digit growths, and those to South America and Africa also grew by more than 10%.
