According to the General Administration of Customs of P.R.C., the nations exports of textiles and apparel (including accessories) in April 2020 increased by 9.8% over the same month of last year to US$21,360.6 million (provisional). Exports made a recovery from the decrease in March exports caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
April exports of textiles climbed 49.3% to US$14,620.7 million, while those of apparel dropped 30.3% to US$6,739.9 million. The drop in apparel exports was due to the coronavirus pandemic in overseas markets, and it is expected that exports of textiles are also likely to be affected from May.
January-April 2020 exports of textiles and apparel decreased by 10.0% year-on-year to US$66,620.4 million: textiles, US$37,311.5 million (up 2.9%) and apparel, US$29,308.9 million (down 22.3).
