Tpl, which will acquire Tasco’s business

Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. aims to strengthen the global sales of polyester spunbond (SB) by leveraging the addition of Thai Unitika Spunbond C0., Ltd. (Tasco), a Thai nonwoven fabric manufacturing and sales subsidiary of Unitika, into its group. The company also expects synergies with Unicel C0., Ltd. (located in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture), a group company that manufactures and sells long-fiber nonwoven fabrics using special production methods.

At the end of October 2025, Teijin Frontier signed an agreement with Unitika to acquire Tasco’s business, including its plant facilities, through Teijin Polyester (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (TPL), its Thai subsidiary. As a result, Tasco will officially join the Teijin Frontier Group in January 2026.

Tasco was established in 1997 as a joint venture between Unitika and Teijin. Located within the premises of TPL, it has shared utilities such as energy, maintaining a cooperative relationship to date. By incorporating Tasco into the group, Teijin Frontier intends to utilize Tasco’s strengths in global sales channels to expand the supply of high value-added polyester SB.

In addition, Teijin Frontier already has Unicel, a subsidiary that manufactures and sells long-fiber nonwoven fabrics using special production methods. Looking ahead, the company envisions synergies between Unicel’s specialty long-fiber nonwoven fabrics and Tasco’s polyester SB, aiming to build and strengthen a supply system for high value-added nonwoven fabrics.
