According to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the nation’s production of nonwoven fabrics in July 2016 declined by 1.0% from the same month of last year to 28,360 tons. It was the first decline compared to the year before in four months since March.
Production during January-July 2016 rose by 0.6% year-on-year to 197,945 tons.Itemwise, July production of chemical-bondeds increased for the third straight month to 1,715 tons, along with wet-laid nonwovens for the second consecutive month to 2,737 tons. Meanwhile thermal-bondeds decreased for the third consecutive month to 3,338 tons. Needle-punched nonwovens production declined for the first time in five months to 6,002 tons.
