At PanTextiles Osaka 2016 held in Osaka, Japan, leading Taiwanese textile firms are endeavoring to develop the Japanese market with eco-friendly high-function materials and apparel manufacturing operations utilizing production bases in Vietnam and other ASEAN countries.
Sponsored by the Taiwan Textile Federation, PanTextiles Osaka 2016 exhibitors number 45 including major synthetic fiber producers, textile manufacturers, converters, dyeing and finishing companies and denim makers.
Most of the exhibitors are offering materials featuring high functionality. Many of them are also promoting materials that boast both functionality and environment friendliness.
Sunny Special Dyeing & Finishing Co., Ltd., which is participating in PanTextiles Osaka for the first time, is exhibiting originally developed fabrics for sportswear applications. Being the first dyeing and finishing factory in Taiwan to obtain Bluesign certification, the company attaches importance to its eco-friendly production system.Europe and the U.S. have been its main markets, and it will now focus on the development of materials for the Japanese market.
Tung Ho Textile Co., Ltd. is also exhibiting for the first time, and is showing mainly functional spun yarn. Exhibits include PET bottle-recycled polyester and a yarn that obtains a wool texture by the use of shell components.
Proposals that combine the use of Taiwanese materials with ASEAN apparel manufacturing operations are also prominent. Mo Tong Textile Co., Ltd. has expanded its business from mainly textiles to apparel manufacturing operations using apparel factories in Vietnam and Cambodia. The company is exhibiting for the first time in eight years, and is proposing ASEAN apparel operations at PanTextiles Osaka. Gwo-Jyh Warp Knitting Industry Co., Ltd. is promoting products utilizing the apparel factory the company set up in Vietnam in 2013.
