According to a Japan Spinners’ Association report based on Ministry of Finance trade statistics, the nation’s imports of cotton yarn in March 2017 fell 12.3% compared to the same month of last year to 22,150 480-lb. bales.
Imports from Indonesia dropped 15.8% to 7,717 bales, while those from Pakistan rose by 8.8% to 5,376 bales.
March imports of combed yarn declined by 19.2% to 9,542 bales. Imports from India were down 26.5% to 2,809 bales.
