Andritz Nonwoven, a part of the Andritz Group, has received an order from TTL of Germany to supply a complete needlepunch line. Start-up of the line is scheduled for summer 2017.

The order includes opening and blending equipment, Dynamic card and crosslapper in combination with Andritz technology for drafting, needling and unwinding/combining. Andritz will also supply the process control as well as the unique, closed-loop ProDyn system, thus providing continuous web monitoring and optimization of the end product.

The high-capacity Andritz needlepunch neXline eXcelle line will produce industrial textiles, such as nonwoven felts made of different polymers like polyester, polypropylene, polyacrylnitrile, aramid, PPS, polyimide and viscose. In addition, the line will be used for manufacturing individual products for different dedicated technical applications, such as for protection against fire and heat in the automotive and electrical industries.

TTL chose Andritz as supplier of the line after having conducted several successful test runs at the Andritz Asselin-Thibeau Technical Center in Elbeuf, France. TTL develops, manufactures and sells needlefelts for technical applications such as filter media, laundry textiles and industrial textiles. The company sells high-quality products all over the world, and generates more than 50% of its turnover from exports.
