Teijin Limited will participate in Chinaplas 2017, Asia’s largest exhibition for the plastics and rubber industries from May 16th to 19th in Guangzhou, China. The company is participating in this exhibition for the eighteenth time.

The Teijin booth (11.2 K41) will introduce resin products and related business initiatives, and seminars will be held on advanced processing technologies and solutions for components. Teijin is transitioning its resin business to high-performance products, processing and solutions as part of a larger corporate strategy to steadily evolve the company ahead of changes in the external environment so as to deliver new values over the long term.

Case studies focusing on growth fields in Japan and around the world will be introduced, showing how Teijin polycarbonate resins are being used to achieve advanced functions in various applications, such as:

  • high reflective index for camera lenses,
  • high optical diffusion required for LED light,
  • superior thermal conductivity and heat radiation for office automation and precision optical equipment, and
  • reinforced resin using unique fillers for high-precision molding.

Displays will show how Teijin technologies and high-function materials are being deployed to solve problems. Specific examples will include high-function compounds and prepregs improved with flame-retardant materials and proprietary materials such as aramid fibers and carbon fibers; an ultra-hard polycarbonate resin with surface strength equal to that of an H-hardness pencil; polycarbonate resin with high impact resistance even at extremely low temperatures, and PEN resin offering excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance.

The booth will also present Teijin’s total solutions for development, processing and final products. One of the exhibits is a new hard-coating technology that gives automotive windows made of resin the same level of abrasion resistance and weather resistance as windows made of glass. Customer case studies, videos and demonstrations will present business models incorporating Teijin’s latest processing technologies.
