According to a Japan Textiles Exporters Association report based on Ministry of Finance trade statistics, the nation’s exports of textiles and apparel in July 2017 decreased by 5% from the year before to US$635.79 million.

Exports during the first seven months of this year decreased by 4% year-on-year to US$4,253.74 million.

By destination, July exports to East Asia declined by 5% to US$463.54 million. Of this, exports to China were down 5% to US$209.81 million. Exports to Europe decreased by 5% to US$64.57 million, while those to the U.S. climbed 16% to US$59.63 million.
