Shima Seiki Italia S.p.A., the Italian subsidiary of leading Japanese computerized knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki Mfg., Ltd., will hold a private exhibition at its Carpi office on December 12th and 13th.

The exhibition will be a showcase for the company’s latest selection of computerized flat knitting technology, as well as an opportunity to preview machines and samples to be shown at subsequent shows ranging from Pitti Filati, ISPO and Première Vision.

On display will be the flagship MACH2XS series of WholeGarment knitting machines featuring SlideNeedles mounted on four needlebeds and the company’s original spring-type moveable sinker system, as well as the compact SWG-N2 series WholeGarment knitting machine with capability for industrial textiles. For shaped knitting, the SRY and SVR-SP with loop pressers are capable of inlay technique for producing unique hybrid knitwear with woven textures.

Demonstrations will also be performed on Shima Seiki’s SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system that is at the core of the company’s “Total Fashion System” concept. With comprehensive support of all aspects throughout the supply chain, APEX3 integrates production into one smooth and efficient workflow from yarn development, product planning and design to machine programming, production and even sales promotion. Especially effective is APEX3’s capability to eliminate wasteful production with Virtual Sampling. Photo-realistic simulation capability minimizes the need for sample-making, effectively reducing time, cost and materials from the sampling process. In addition, virtual samples can be used in pre-sales events at the pre-production stage to determine demand before actual production begins, realizing optimum inventory and thus preventing leftover stock. In this way, waste can be eliminated, contributing to sustainable fashion.
