According to the Vietnam Textile & Garment Association (VITAS), this year’s exports of textiles and apparel achieved their target with a 10.23% increase over the previous year to US$31 billion.

By category, exports of apparel grew by 8.7% to US$25,910 million, those of textiles climbed 19.9% to US$3,510 million, and nonwovens jumped 13.73% to US$472 million. Exports of textile fibers sharply increased by 17.3% to US$1,100 million.

By market, exports to the U.S. rose by 9.4% to US$12,530 million, and were followed by those to the EU, Japan and Korea.

VITAS has set the 2018 export target at US$33.5 billion (up 8.1% compared to 2017 exports).
