According to China’s General Administration of Customs, the nation’s exports of textiles and apparel in August 2018 increased by 2.9% over the same month of last year to US$27.05 billion (provisional). August exports surpassed July exports of US$26.95, and reached the highest level since exports reached US$27.94 billion in August of 2016.

Exports of textiles grew by 6.0% to US$10.28 billion, thus growing for the fifth consecutive month, and those of apparel rose by 1.1% to US$16.77 billion, up for three straight months.

Textile and apparel exports during the first eight months of this year increased by 3.7% year-on-year to US$181.40 billion: textiles, US$78.74 (up 9.5%) and apparel, US$102.67 million (down 0.3%).
