According to the Japan Chemical Fibers Association, the nation’s production of man-made fiber during January-March 2019 fell 4.6% year-on-year to 207,878 tons, of which synthetic fibers declined by 4.8% to 163,103 tons. First-quarter production increased for polyester filament (up 2.0% to 29,872 tons) and polyester staple fiber (up 3.5% to 21,657 tons).
Archroma officially inaugurated its new Global Competence Center for Automotive & Synthetic Dyeing in Korschenbroich, Germany. The site is part of former M. Dohmen, an international group specializing in the production of textile dyes and chemicals for the automotive, carpet and apparel sectors, which Archroma acquired between 2014 and 2018. At ITMA 2019 in Barcelona, Spain from June 20th to 26th, Bonas will reinforce its position as the leading supplier of shedding systems to both the flat weaving and carpet weaving industries worldwide.
