According to revised production statistics released from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI), March 2020 production of disposable diapers increased by 7.9% in weight compared to the same month of last year to 77,416 tons. In quantity, production rose 8.8% to 2,063.77 million. The sharp increase in production is because production was at low levels in 2019.
The production of disposable diapers for babies grew by 15.3% in weight to 41,985 tons, and by 15.3% in quantity to 1,295.73 million.
The production of disposable diapers for adults slightly rose by 0.4% in weight to 35,431 tons, and by 0.6% in quantity to 768.05 million.
