The China Chemical Fibers Association reported that the nation’s production of man-made fibers during January-June 2016 grew by 8.4% year-on-year to 24.52 million tons.
Compared to the 12.5% growth in 2015, first-half production grew at a slower rate.

Production increased for all items except for acetate filament. Rayon staple fiber, nylon and vinylon posted double-digit production growths. The production of polyester filament, which accounts for 60% of total production, rose by 9.6% to 14.89 million tons.
