Tsudakoma Corporation expects that its sales of looms and weaving preparatory equipment in the current fiscal year ending this November are likely to increase by slightly more than 10% over the previous fiscal year to 29 billion yen.
While the company is struggling in exports to China, exports of air-jet looms to India are leading business.
According to a company official, the company’s production of looms in the current fiscal year are moving at a monthly rate of 400-450 looms, and are likely to remain of this level even in the final quarter (September-November) as well. Exports of air-jet looms to India, mainly for weaving fabrics for casual wear, remain strong, and a great portion of the growth this year is attributed to exports to India.
