A ten-year master agreement has been signed between Safran S.A. and Toray Industries, Inc., a major milestone in the historical partnership between the two companies.

With this agreement, both companies have established a frame to supply high-performance composites for manufacturing a new generation of aircraft engine parts.

Safran and Toray are reinforcing their collaboration to meet the challenges in the growing aviation market, creating advanced yet competitive technologies and offering environmental protective solutions. A world leader in high-performance carbon fiber and composites, Toray will support international leader Safran with the whole variety of innovative materials and newest technologies developed by the group.

Thierry Viguier, Safran Vice President, Materials Purchasing, says, “Safran undergoes a long time relationship with historical supplier Toray. We now intend to take full and direct benefits of Toray’s capability to develop high-performance composites. It was thus a matter of time to formalize a way of innovative collaboration through a long-term agreement.”

Yasuo Suga, Toray Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Torayca and Composites Division, comments, “Safran is our strategic customer in expanding global business, and we have a long history of material supply. We are extremely pleased to be able to enhance our partnership by providing our latest materials and technologies to Safran.”
